Moorhampton Barn
[Barn Conversion]

Jack approached us to build a timber frame to fit inside his barn. He already had a shell with external walls and a roof but it needed a skeleton for the internal walls and first floor structure. Since he already had planning permission and architects drawings we had a framework to work from and after a detailed survey of the existing building we set to on some chunky oak beams. Having to assemble the frame from the inside of the building presented some challenges as the usual methods of assembly were unavailable to us however with some careful planning and joint design we were able to build the whole thing from inside.
We were asked back to face glaze the front opening and the sides and we have also made 5 windows for the barn now and there’s still a front door in our order books.
